Our small herd has now grown to 28. We had six new crias born on our farm this year, all girls! Four of them belong to us and two to our boarders.  Jocelyn (light fawn), Jolene (bay black), Janis (true black) and Juniper (dark rose gray) are our new girls.   We also traded two of our boys for new ones.  Our new boys are both white: Painted Spring Impressario de Peru (a.k.a. Preston) who is a full Peruvian and Dream Weaver CA563 who is ½ Accoyo and ¾ Peruvian.

We are thrilled with our new kids. Look for them in the show ring next year! We have diversified our genetics through the acquisition of several notable full Peruvian herdsires during the past two years: Classic Black Night (true black), Regalo Gold of Genesis (dark fawn), and Chilipepper’s Nevada (white). These boys, have given us a lot of breeding options.

We have crossed alpacas of Peruvian ancestry with Chileans to produce excellent fleece in a diverse array of colors. We are breeding for conformation, superior quality fleece and disposition. Our animals are all handled on a daily basis. They are friendly and fun. If you are interested in buying alpacas, please see our sales list for more information.

All our alpacas are registered with the Alpaca Registry.

Our Herdsire - SHRA Calypsa

Calypsa

Name DOB Description
SHRA Calypsa
ARI #819705
2/24/00 Full Accoyo and a blue ribbon winner at the 2001 AOBA show in Portland, SHRA Calypsa came from Starhill Ranch in California. Son of Pperuvian Felix and grandson of Pperuvian Caligula on this dam's side, Calypsa has perfect conformation and incredible fleece. His fiber is a champagne color light fawn. His 22.5 micron count as well as his density and coverage are awesome. I never believed that you could shear 10 pounds of fleece from a single animal until now! In the past several years he has won first place and second ribbons in all the Spin-offs he has entered: AOBA Nationals, F2F, the AWE, and OABA. With 28 colorful award-winning crias of every color (including white, beige, fawn, brown, black, rose gray and silver gray, he has proven himself in the field.  He is one of those rare Accoyos that produce color!
Silver Scorpion
ARI #847125
6/18/03 Silver Scorpion is a fine silver gray male, son of the champion producing Silver Dollar and a grandson of the famous gray herdsire, The Silversmith. Silver Scorpion is co-owned with Wool & Gray Alpacas.  He has produced several outstanding black and gray crias so far and we are looking forward to the next year’s group.
BSF Chilton ARI#836398 5/1/02 Chilton is a commanding presence in the field and vies with our herdsire for attention. He has excellent conformation and superb fleece, very fine and lustrous. Like his sister, Brittany, he is a medium silver gray reflecting the coloring of his sire, FMF's Dust Commander. He has produced two female crias so far--a lovely silver gray out of a gray dam and a black girl, Helema,  out of our black Royal Black Velvet.
BSF Eduardo
ARI #1436259
10/17/04 Eduardo is proving himself to be the exceptional male we knew he was. He ribboned in every show he entered, taking third place at MAPACA for two years,  a second at PAOBA and at the Vermont and Coastal Classic shows.  He commands attention wherever he goes with his stunning gray color, regal carriage, and handsome head. Sired by Calypsa, he has inherited the density and fineness of his father's fabulous fleece. He now has seven crias on the ground, six gray, five boys and two girls. Eduardo is co-owned with Wool & Gray Alpacas.
BSF Federico
ARI #1377080

11/26/07

Preston is very handsome full Peruvian white male out of El Nino’s Accoyo Iago.   His fleece is very dense and fine, just 20 microns at 2 years of age.    We think he will make a fine herdsire and add some interesting genetics to our herd.  He won several ribbons as a juvi at shows in PA.

Dream Weaver CA 563

10/26/06 Weaver is a very jocular and animated young white male.  Always the first one to the fence, he is our farm greeter.  He is ¾ Peruvian and ½ Accoyo out of the El Moustachio and Emilio lines.  He has never been shown.

She is true black, but carries a lot of gray in her genes.  She had her first cria this year: Jolene, out of  Federico.

Sadly she lost her battle with cancer.   However, she left behind an incredible legacy in her three gorgeous crias, all sired by Calypsa:  Geraldine,  Hunter, and Ilene.   She was one of our great foundation ladies and so she remains on our list And in our hearts.

ARI
#
31149150

6/13/08 We wanted a white female to round out the colors in our herd so we bought Superstition.  She is a sweet girl with fantastic fleece.  She is a Snowmaster granddaughter out of Condornar.

BSF Isabel
ARI# 30457126

4/13/08

A beautiful bay black girl with thick bundles of crimpy fleece, Isabel is a solidly built girl who started out at 22 lbs. and grew up fast.  Out of Lanark’s Magic, a fawn, and Miss Katie, a silver gray, she carries a lot of color in her background. We are very proud of her.  She won a 3rd place in a large class at MAPACA and most recently, she took Reserve Color Champion at the 2009 AFCNA Continental Fleece Show.

BSF Inkberry
ARI# 30457119

10/5/08

Inkberry is a sleek and lovely true black girl out of Classic Black Night and Midnight.  She is conformationally correct with a sweet disposition.

BSF Ilene
ARI# 30457010

10/23/08

Ilene is a light brown color with lovely fleece as a result of the pairing of her dam, a Virtual daughter, and her Accoyo sire, Calypsa.  She has bundling and structure even in her cria fleece which is an amazing 16 microns .  She is growing fast and should be ready to show this fall.

BSF Inca Moon
ARI# 31572354

11/29/08

Inca Moon is the first gray girl born to us since Brittany in 2001.  She is incredible.  From her white face which looks like a moon shining through a cloudy night to her incredible blanket of dark rose gray, she is a rare and exquisite gem.

BSF Jolene
ARI# 31572378

4/18/09

Jolene is our first Federico daughter and she is fabulous.  Unlike her dam, who is the  largest female in our herd, she is petite and squarely built like Federico.  We think she will have incredible black fleece like her sire and dam.

BSF Jocelyn
ARI# 31572385

4/25/09

Big-boned, beige, and beautiful.  Jocelyn was a veritable moose at birth, weighing in at 25 lbs. She has definitely inherited her sire’s color and fleece characteristics.  Jocelyn’s fleece is already dense and crimpy with an incredible staple length.

BSF Jubilant Janis ARI# 31572392

9/24/09

Janis is Brittany’s very first girl and her first true black cria. She is a Classic Black Night daughter so we think that there is a very good probability that she carries gray genes and will be likely to throw gray if she is bred to gray in the future. In the meantime, we are looking forward to seeing how she will do in the show ring this year. She has excellent conformation and lovely lustrous solid black fleece.

BSF Juniper
ARI# 31572347

11/15/09

Juniper is almost an exact replica of her sister, Inca Moon.  Her coloring is more rose gray than silver gray, but she has the same white face and tuxedo markings and impeccable conformation as her sire, Eduardo, and her sister.

Males

9/22/07

Hunter is out of Sapphire and Calypsa.  He is a light fawn color with legs as straight as arrows.  With the powerful genetics of Calypsa and his grandsire, Virtual Vicuna, he is blest with excellent genetics.  Last year he won a ribbon at SEPA.

BSF Lord Irving
ARI# 30457027

9/1/08

Born on Labor Day, this boy is already trying to impress the girls. He is a medium silver gray like his dam, Brittany.  Like his sire, Classic Black Night, he has very soft and dense fleece  He has taken ribbons at MAPACA and New Jersey Classic shows this year and a third place in the 2009 Continental Fleece Show.

BSF Intrepid Spirit
ARI# 31572361

12/8/08

Intrepid Spirit  is another stunning gray boy out of Eduardo.  He got his name as a result of his battle with the elements on his birthday, one of the coldest  days of the year.  He is as cute as can be with striking coloration and lots of energy.  He has very fine fleece and took a first place at the New Jersey Classic Show.
